Montgomery Bell Academy’s Observatory<\/a> on Long Mountain outside McMinnville, TN was dedicated in 2011, and completely refurbished in 2022. The facility is located at an altitude of 1,800 feet in an area of low light pollution. The observatory has been used to confirm several exoplanets as part of the KELT<\/a> exoplanet transit search program and has been accepted as a member of NASA’s TESS Follow-up Observing Program.<\/a> The observatory’s primary instrument is a 24″ PlaneWave Corrected Dall-Kirkham telescope with a ZWO ASI6200MM Pro monochrome CMOS camera with color, narrowband and photometric filters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
